If you don’t have your Allow apps set to “anyone” in your System Preferences you may run into the Apple Unidentified Developer Error which will prevent you from installing the application. Follow the steps below to add a permanent new setting for all future applications where the developer is not recognized.
In the top right-hand corner click on the magnifying glass search icon and search for the “Terminal” application.
Once the Terminal Application is open type in the code below and press “Enter”
sudo spctl –master-disable
Enter the password you use to log into your Mac and hit “Enter”. Close the application
(It will appear as if nothing is happening when you’re typing in your password but it is)
Restart your computer. Now you can download all the applications you want on your Mac without the error.
